Pedestal

By billy_bryce2002 on January 25, 2026 2:57 am

Verse 1
Loved you too much for my own good
Even if you didn't treat  me as you should
Loved you more than you ever could
And yet I never understood

Why I believed every excuse
And ate up all of your abuse
I was just a toy for your use
So now I have to cut you loose

Pre- Chorus
Built you up in my mind
You could say I was blind
Ignoring all the signs
Forgiving all your crimes

Chorus
It’s time to let you down
Let you you down
Let you down
Down from your pedestal
You really let me down
Let me down
Let me down
Get down from your pedestal

Verse 2
How did I fall for this again
Why do I always pick the wrong men
History repeatedly makes me burn
Because I never seem to learn

Treated like shit where ever I turn
Alway doing what I think will earn me
The love and respect that I yearn
Like a hamster on a wheel that won't turn

Built you up like your a saviour
Cos my self-worth's in the gutter
You made me greatly suffer
And called yourself my lover

Chorus
It’s time to let you down
Let you you down
Let you down
Down from your pedestal
You really let me down
Let me down
Let me down
Get down from your pedestal

I dig the periodic vocal ping and the backing choir work!!

Love the timbre of that synth boop.  Your voice (especially against the backing vocals) really does a lot here

Oh man when the "It's time to let you down" chorus came in I got gooseflesh. And those lyrics are universal. Excellent.

That's a pretty cool vocal performance.
