If you uploaded a track for a specific week, and either you messed up and forgot to actually submit the form, or the server exploded and for some reason the song is gone... Please post here and we'll try to get you a private link to re-upload it for the given week. Be sure to tell us what week # was messed up in your post!

Also, this does not include users who's song was deleted due to copyright issues or whatever else.

I feel the same about this, however what happens in the ‘off’ years?

I have enjoyed my time writing music here. This year the deadline was much harder to make so I wasn’t able to meet it as much as I wanted, however I was still writing and learning more about my studio. Since starting this  in 2018, I increased my studio a lot and the learning curve is a roller coaster.

The other folks here are the kindest critics ever.  They have always had positive things to say and offered constructive feedback. Plus, folks will clue one in on nuances in different DAWs.  The software of today is fabulous until it isn’t.  I had everything set up in Reaper and it wasn’t working as advertised & someone here suggested I verify a little bit of nothing and that took care of the problem.  It wasn’t in the manual for the DAW nor did my computer OM address it. I guess one just had to know. Other DAWs have their issues too. Anyway, folks here are very helpful.

In my career it has not always been so. I’ve been in orchestras, Big Band Jazz bands, large & small rock bands, a fusion band (great fun), C & W bands, & done solo work. A couple of big name large groups had conductors/Maestros with the temperament of three year olds. Any perceived problem real or imagined would get a redfaced tantrum accompanied by flying drumsticks.

I’m grateful for the folks here and hope it continues in 2022.

For some reason my piece didn’t upload today. Week 31. It pretended to upload then didn’t.  I could use a link to help me try again.  Thanks.

Are you still doing this?  I tried to listen in and couldn’t get to the server.

My intentions and the reality of doing are very different. I've been trying a different DAW and it's good everyday except one. It does want to record live. It's Reaper. All the other DAW's I have that actually work with Mac Catalina, have no problem working with my old tried and true TASCAM US-4X4. Reaper works great with my midi stuff but plug a microphone or guitar in and it has no idea what to do. Anybody have any suggestions?

So when is the deadline for sure? I was planning on week 1 being this Weekend but now I see I’m already behind the eight ball. I’ll have to redo my composition calendar for the year and reschedule studio time. It’s all electronic & it’s my studio so it’s not a BDD (Big Damn Deal) but it’s tedious.

Yes happy new year everyone. This is an outstanding site. Everyone is very kind and insightful. I also got off my compositional duff and started composing again. For that I am grateful. I loved listening also. I didn’t write as much as I had hoped but next year is here. Thanks everyone

I believe in this particular case it's Bm-Em/B-Bm-Bm7-Bsus2-Bsus4 with a B note layered an octave higher.

That last one is quite interesting because it's two fifth intervals in one chord (B-F# and E-B), but differently than a m7 or M7. I think it's there to resolve both the sus2 and the m7 at once, but in two different ways.

I agree. I think the fifths are a power interval/tension enhancement allowing the tension to disappear at resolution like a magic trick.

and i could hear your jazzy entry for week 24 perfectly, but in case you wanna try anyway here ya go: https://weeklybeats.com/music/upload?ha … 28923912e4

Week 26 worked but not week 24

I was just trying to convert my tune for this week and cubase gave me an error message. By the time I figured it out, I missed it by seconds. Could I get a link to send it in anyway? Thanks.

Apparently no one can play my week 24 submission even if they download it. Could I have a link to resubmit it please? Thanks
