Interesting thread... I would love to play live but don't know how to go about finding a venue. I mean do you just call people up?

Well you gotta find a place that would suit the kind of music that you play first and that can be harder than anything else.

happy V-day fuckos

hospital for anemic sounds...a very interesting take on noise esp coming from a guy with no musical background. With these words in mind what holds the future of sound/music in our time and age?

I'd try and shoot for anything not in duplemeter. Compound time sigs and triple meters are fine.

I have to say making music is like an erection, when its there you must cater and make good sure that its taken care of. Once its gone like all good things its gone. You mustn't over think it as it has a mind of its own. It comes natural like seeing a beautiful mare. Every stroke becomes more and more desirable. Until Boom..that is all.

^very very true. Something that made me put off music for a while is because I didnt really know the synths and programs i was using. Learn your tools inside and out. Pick a synth and try and make your own patches.

Alot of it has to do with patience. You must be ready to fail and not completely give up.

You must set yourself up mentally and be positive. I cant really get into it when im not in the best of mental health.

Something that helped me is giving myself time constraints in doing each track. I, like many others here, have ADHD. The vision of the track becomes lost very easily when thought out too much.

And most of all have fun with it. Think about making music as a fun thing to do. Not a chore or a task, writing music weekly should help you unwind from the troubles that you face out in the real world, not add to them.

Hey if im not familiar with this genre, what should i listen to get a general overview of what makes black metal, black metal?

only vocal samples are used to create a track.

man black metal isnt up my alley at all but i can try
