Salut you filthy animals. It was a pleasure to have taken such a perilous journey. Ive seen and heard the improvements in sound, quality, composition and creativity from all of you. I hope this isnt the end for us!
We should all keep in touch or make a comp album with everyone that wants to be on it!

Whos downsies?

Thumbs up!

It's hard to say for sure because somehow the lion's share of my submissions were deleted, but based on counting on Soundcloud and Reverbnation and my Studio One folders on my hard drive, I'm guessing I did 32/52.  A friend of mine told me about this in late December last year and we were both going to do it.  His number is 0/52 and I'm a bit mad at him for that, but happy that he told me about you folks.  I've learned a lot this year and heard a lot of amazing music.

I've made it this far.  Some of my weeks aren't quite as good as others to put it kindly, but there's nothing I'm completely ashamed of yet.

Okay, there are now .ogg stems on Google Drive available publicly for my song above, "Something Instrumental #6." The link is:  https://drive.google.com/folderview?id= … sp=sharing

Edit:  Guitar tracks were silent when creating stems.  They are now fixed.

I like. And to think that was done with the raw mp3. It would be interesting to see what people can do when they have stems to work with if I'm ever home long enough to make that happen.

I might try this when I have time. Also, I'll make stems of my week 15 contribution if anyone wants to play with it.

My contribution this week has some intentional discordance, but it isn't exactly noise.  The discordance even has a couple bars of reversed guitar so it would have been great for last week.

I'm not sure if my song this week quite counts, but I did reverse a track in the intro/outro, so I'm including it.  Since my music is usually primarily guitar-based and not electronic, the reversed samples thing was strange for me.

Spaceaser, your link is broken.

I finally did one of the themes. Yay.

You can export stems from most DAWs and send them to a collaborator. It's not a perfect solution, but it works.

I think its important to say something about things that can kill inspiration. Like if you have someone thats an "antivibe" in your vicinity. Someone thats either a jerk / bitch / insane, or just on you about money or some shit. We all know that person thats just drama in a bad way all the fn time. If your stuck around someone like that then it doesn't matter how serious you are about music, your not going to be able to hone your artistry.

I find that having life difficulties, including those caused by being around a jerk/bitch/insane person actually help me make better music.  Maybe because I write lyrics every week and strong emotions lead to better lyrics, IMHO.

It basically means that you can only eat a cake once because once you've eaten it it will be gone.  Still kinda silly, but it's supposed to be a metaphor.  Supposedly, it's more poetic than saying, "if you spend your money on junk today, you won't have it to pay your phone bill next week."

Just like on 'Whose Line' the points don't matter.

Oh, there's one more thing I want to note: when you release intellectual property under a Creative Commons license, you can't revoke that license at a later date if you change your mind because it's actually in the terms of the license.
