back in the mid 90s I used Impulse Tracker to begin with, then in the early aughts I switched to FL Studio and have been using that ever since. Recently have been learning Reaper and Ableton. I know Protools too but I don't have that program. have dabbled in other softwares like fractal music programs and stuff like that.

probably going to follow my whims again. but I would like to improve at composition and get away from improvisation and randomization which has been my calling card in the past. I have a new recording setup so that is going to change things quite a bit, as well as a few new instruments I would like to incorporate. definitely going to be some live band recordings like I did a few times in 2012, gonna be more Sitari, and I'd like to work more on multi tracking and merging different musical worlds together. One project that I have been contemplating for years is Voiceprint which uses only the recorded voice to come up with sample sets for compositions. so I guess my goal is to be as scatterbrained as ever.

12 EPs is like a combo of this thing I used to do called RPM Challenge, which is make an entire album in the month of February, and Weekly Beats. takes the best of both worlds, imo. I think I'll enjoy that a lot more, especially during the weeks where it just feels like I am shitting out material rather than wanting to create.

I really like the monthly ep idea

I think there's an art to ordering songs on an album, I like to order them using my instinct then see if they flow well together... then I get ideas for flow and rearrange so that there's a logical transition (i.e. songs that have similar endings to beginnings of next song)
