@ctrix If I understood trash80 correctly when he first explained WB to me.. the whole point is to be able to exercise yourself so that you CAN release quality tracks in a week.. so putting out a few stinkers is to be expected.

@ctrix yeah. what's the deal. why does andrew ride your nuts so hard? I mean. you are talented.. but still.. it's kinda annoying. He sounds like one of those chicks back in beatlemania-land. Im kinda anti having the reviews at all.. I'd much prefer that people express constructive criticism than turn this place into a popularity contest. I dont think thats what trash80's original intention was.

ive been thinking about what kind of interfaces would work well with a tablet. im thinking that a piano roll might not be the best interface for a touch screen device.. and certainly not a tracker style thing.. i have always thought it would be cool to be able to sequence chords as well as notes. but thats just me..

well. thing is. ive been working on a cross platform sequencer app.. I dont currently own an iOS device. but have contemplated getting one and making a sequencer for it. I am more compelled towards android. but im not sure it has the right market share and I have heard that the audio is laggy

oh.. one more thing... to underscore what others have said.. do NOT let music theory dominate your music.. Having learned lots of music theory, I often wish that I had never learned it. It makes being creative difficult. Only use it as a loose guideline.. Let your ears,thoughts and emotions dominate.. not knowledge.

also.. as far as relationships between chords goes... I try to look at less and less about being in a key and more and more about voice leading. Generally. If a chord has a common tone with the next chord then it is 9 times out of 10 going to sound right. Also, if one or more of the notes is a leading note (a semitone below or a full tone above) to the next chord. it wll sound ok. If you want to follow a classical approach.. then jumping by 5ths or 4ths is the way to go. It is important to understand that 4ths are always the 5th of another key, so it is possible to modulate to a different key using the 4th of one key as though it is the 5th of another. Also.. the major 3rd is always the dominant of the relative major/minor of whatever key you are in. That is an easy way to modulate between the two.
