Well done on noticing the cheats.  Pretty lame for the first week.

why all the chip hate?

I don't think that was point. I do think [you] all need to calm down and stop taking it so personally.

I view the challenge of WB's as to expand one's compositional horizons (not just output) regardless the choice of instruments and production techniques. That said, as a non-chip musician, but someone with a long-term appreciation for the genre nonetheless, I appreciate CK's post – if I were forced to listen to chip music and nothing else I'd be suffering from profound hearing loss.

Dark ambient, electronica, drift, industrial, experimental, noise, film scores, orchestral, field recordings, ambient/experimental guitar, dark hop, whatever....

Bands are another thing yet again.  I may throw in some math metal/rock/post rock/post jazz if time permits.

I'm definitely not a 'chip artist'  smile

My first track has been submitted!  I like how you don't get to hear anyone's work until the end of the week where they're all released at once.  Very cool!

Mine is done.  Just have to export out etc.  Collab isn't out of the question but I have some ideas I want to work on first.  I might hit you up later in the year.

I'll be using guitars, various software and hardware.  Too early to know the full details of the arsenal  wink
There'll probably be some sampling/field recording at some stage though.

Yeah I like the look of the site.  Well done.  When do the songs become live?  At the end of each week?

Well you'll be happy to know I won't be doing one bit of chiptune at all.  smile
