Finding something this week was like pulling teeth. I tried a couple of jams and stitched together almost a full song, but it felt boring. An hour and a half before the deadline, I came across the main theme for this track in my backlog and decided to pivot and flesh it out. It’s still rough around the edges and it mostly sticks to variations on the main theme, but at least it sounds interesting. I rendered the master at the last minute and uploaded it with about 10 seconds to spare. Hopefully it’s not going to be this tight every week roll (who am I kidding)

Built on Dirtywave M8, mastered in Logic.

Get the bundle for it

I’m basking in these incredible synthwave vibes 🤩

starts out solid and keeps getting better! Killer mix.

Wot no cheese???? 🧀👀🩵
Epic synth wave stuff right there M8!!!

congratz on the last minute submission. sounds super fresh! smile

Boy, do I hear you...
But damn man, you were able to get something REALLY cool out of it! But I'm biased, I love anything synthy and even vaguely synthwave-y, hahahahha...
Also, submitting with just moments to spare, holy crap!!! And I thought I was close!

Bass is killer. The lead synth-horn melody (especially the first 8 bars) have this great triumphant mode without breaking the groove. And the 80s-FM-y marimba sounds great against all these rich timbres. Should be played loud enough to drown out the local pool party

This sounds HUGE dude! I love the constant ticking of that marimba arp, make me feel like I’m running against a countdown. The drums are thick and punchy, and the lead is super sweet. Think I’m gonna get me that bundle to learn me a thing or two

Did you sidechain in logic or on the M8? That suck around the kick is delightful!

Thank you! I think it could've been better with a bit less time pressure, but glad you liked it anyway!

Funny enough I'm not a huge synthwave guy, but it's real easy to slip into that style on M8. Almost like it's geared towards making huge lush wavey synth beats.

Hope you drowned the sound, not the people partying wink

Enjoy! It's not too complex I think (I hope) big_smile

All side-chained in M8! The sidechain mod on bass and synths works really well in tandem with the master FX and OTT. Thanks for listening!

Ooh I really like the rhymthic fake-out before the main riff lands. That is grabby. I think you will look back on this one with more respect than you have for it now. I dig.

Another great track across the board! Love the melodies, drums and rhythmic elements.

Already commented on the vid, but had to drop by here again to say how balanced and polished the mix feels. Even when every part sounds good, they don't always come together so well like this. Really dig this track.

Thematic intro and power balad execution!  I enjoyed this romp!

Man, this sounds so polished! Super fat bass, the marimba-like ticking rhythm, and the side chain magic. On second listen I realize how that pad is quietly sitting behind everything, making it all sound massive. Really nice work.

The is great full stop, but the fact you made it in under 2 hours is crazy! What synth engine is that pluck?

Thank you! That sound is the macrosynth sine/triangle shape with a couple mods to make it sound percussive. Though most of the magic is delay+reverb smashed by OTT. There's a link to the bundle in the description if you want to pick it apart.
