L'hiver amer

By djippy on January 28, 2024 3:21 pm

I am quite happy at the moment about this one (It might change, sometimes we like something and the next day not...)

I probably wanted to add vocals on it, probably another last section, but I am tired and didn't make it and the simplicity (ish) of it works all right.

Sorry to people that doesn't like reverbs and delay!!! I did go over the board on this one.

There is not that much, a guitar (E key for the win), a bass synth, a very fun "fuzz" plugin, my acoustic drums and Tons of reverbs and delays!

Sounds huge! Love the fuzz sound. Bass tone and guitar tone are nicely separated to make it full, and sounds so wide.

Wowza. Phenomenal song. Sounds super. Really jumps out of the speakers.

Phuzzy. Phat. Groovy. Nice!

J'aime le son de ce track! La reverb ajoute de la dimension! On dirait un morceau de stoner rock des annees 90 (je pense aux instrumentaux de monster magnet). Bon morceau, j'en reprendrais bien, surtout avec ce joli topping de fuzz.

I feel the mud. Great work!

Love the tempo of this and how thick it sounds with the crunchy guitars and huge drums.  Gave me big Mogwai vibes ala their soundtrack work.  I know you wanted to add vocals but I think it stands tall on it's own.  Excellent work!

yeah this rules. drums sound huge, fuzz sounds huge, but all work together like they are best buds
may have thrown devil horns...

Well I guess I'm a fan of reverb and delay because I think it sounds awesome.  Love the huge fuzz sound.

Big Stoner heavy vibes, so good to hear real drums sounding fat too!!!!

I really enjoyed this, very heavy sound and great groove. The mix is banging!

massive guitar tone! really appreciate the long heavy-drawl feel of this, it feels alot like the way the world might be waking up now(or maybe clawing to go back to bed... either way, this track rocks it) heart

This track is huge!!! I can imagine this going down well live 🥰

Black Sabbath in the house. Yeah

"Sorry to people that doesn't like reverbs and delay!!!"

...I refuse to believe such people exist

This is what is fun about synth bass, it is kind of easier to find a patch that cuts-is somewhere else than guitars-kick drums...

Thanks! Yeah, this one sounds big. big reverb on the snare, huge delays on guitars, bits of "fuzz" on the synth bass and Voilà!

En effet, je me suis inspiré des guitares de bands de Stoner rock (josh homme entre autre, mais moins riffy) avec une petite touche electronique pour la bass...

Yeah, and here close to mtl, there is ice, mud, bit of snow, cold, not that cold, etc... This is what this is, it is still a nice place to live but with the shorter days, sometimes it is not as easy to get good spirit on the winter!

Merci! Yeah, I would love to do crazy nice tracks with solid orchestration and cool vocals + harmonies but I am not ready to put the work into it, so I do instrumentals with some acoustic drums and try to make it sound big with delays!!! smile

Thanks! dirty fuzzes for the win.

Yeah, there are not that many of us that track acoustic drums for those weekly beats as it is a pain (electric guitars at big volume is not that easy either...) But I am lucky to have the drums setup in the garage with some mics... so let's go!

Thanks! Yeah, this could work good as a 3 piece band (it could be done with some looping as well, but would need to be arranged differently a little)...

Those guys knew how to do some heavy rock! For sure there are some of it that did influence those stoner rock bands and this track.

Niko aime pas ça (un guitariste avec qui je jam...) ca l'énerve pas mal. He likes his guitars dry!!!

doooooooooooooooom

loved this favorited keep it coming nom nom nom nom

Ooo damn, I love the atmosphere on this one. I like the slow pace and all the open space you have with the guitar to let things resonate and let those drums shine. Definitely a good one to be happy about! I also love the fuzz sound and that interesting delay modulation.

lol don't ever apologize to people who don't like reverb and delay because those people don't matter

HA

I just want to scream vocals over this, this is so heavy
