I am the man I am a mountain

Week off (kind of) for me, did dig on some Bertrude jam recordings (the band I drum with) because what I did work on this week was not complete yet and I didn't want to put much more time into it now or tomorrow.

This is a jam where bassman was not present, a work in progress song, we are almost there. Lyrics not fixed yet, this was improvised on the fly by Mitch. I did put some mics on the drum kit, a close mic on the guit amp and a sm58 for vocals.

All on the same room, a relatively big rehearsing room. This is really rough-raw and it works great for that kind of music. Will need to record this "cleaner" but I really like this track.

This was recorded a while ago last year, we didn't see much during the last 2 years but we keep in touch, I do sometimes play with Niko (guitar).

Hope that we will finally release a LP with the current formation, we still have to track some stuff but some of it just need better mixing and mastering (and I don't want to do it myself this time).

Hope you will enjoy. I am pretty happy about how the energy, dirtyness translate on this one.

i am the walrus

This is awesome man.  That's wild that your singer improvised this, it sounds very much written out!  Pretty good quality too for a live recording, good stuff.

Damn, I love the sound of that rehearsal room. Everything sounds so big and live! I dig the energy you guys have. Being in a room with fellow musicians who can let loose and experiment with ideas without inhibition is one of the fantastic joys of the musician experience, and it sounds like you have that here.

So raw and powerful. The guitar riff reminds me of the stooges "open up and bleed". Super jamming.

Vocals have such a nice grit behind them, fit so well with the raw energy of the drums and guitar.

this is some SICK Danzig stuff.  your drums sound great!  UGH SO JEALOUS YOU ARE IN A BAND great recording great everything // you put the RUDE in Bertrude smile

WHOA!  missed that!  incredible

Throw this through a few compressor passes, put it on a 7" and release it on record store day.  This is SCREAMING for vinyl

Thanks a lot, I do have a "semi-permanent" recording setup at the rehearsal room, I just have to bring a little hard drive, turn stuff up and some mics are already hooked up. Room sounds decent, the mics that I have there are not great, drum set not as nice sounding as what I have at home but it works.

Yes, it is almost always fun to play with some people...

I added quite a bit of saturation to the vocals. Thanks!

Incredible? Maybe, but still Niko and Myself would love him to have something written when we try to actually record our songs... lol

If we were known a little bit, this is the kind of "gift" to do for fans, but we really only have 1 fan...

Track is already slammed A LOT! but yes, having someone that know how to do a great mastering and cutting a vinyl would be awesome.

I am thinking Kyuss vibe with the beat and the guitar sound.

The breakdown guitar reminds me of RHCP. I like the singing, good voice with grit and character. Awesome raw rock track that takes me back to the 90s in a good way!

Now who's the punk? HUH?? You are the man.

Oh yeah. Keeping it low down and dirty

Niko loves Kyuss so he'll be pleased with that comment!

Punk? Nah, not really, I do pay taxes, work close to 40hrs a week, give a shit load of money to the banks slowly paying back for my house... I do pretty much what society asks me to do... Anyways, I am ok with that, especially where I live where most of us have a decent quality of life.

Yes, loads of dirt. smile

Love the raw sound.  Gave me some Clutch vibes early on.  Hell yais!

Honestly, dirty recording is what gives WB its charm, lets you listen to stuff studios are afraid to put out because clean is the standard.
