Power of Names

By Devieus on September 1, 2024 10:43 pm

There's great power in names, not the regular names you know, true names, names with power
Knowledge of these names gives absolute control over the thing it names, for it is the true nature of that thing
It defines the very concept of that being, its purpose, its contents
Though over time, it might change, as people do, as the world does

And not to be confused with Names of Power, which is like this cool name you give yourself to make yourself feel bigger and better

Maybe next week
(probably not next week)

Power chords, powerful drum hits! Like he-man says “i have the powerrrrrrrr” though, in this case you’d have it!

I have a real soft spot for that GM sounding guitar. Takes me back to DS era games

Cool track, you're definitely laser-focused on this aesthetic and I can only encourage you to continue!

Nota bene, interesting topic for the track coming from you of many names!

Deep stuff. That intro about the power of names totally reminds me of Eragon and the Inheritance Cycle. I loved the way magic worked in those books, and there were some beautifully poetic spells and moments that came out of it. Oh, and this track is a banger, by the way. wink

love the drama and groove in this Power of Names

We've been trying to investigate power all year, see if we can't have it. We're getting closer every time.

You'll be sorry to hear it's an actual guitar then. Recorded through a mic sometimes no less.
But it tells us we're getting pretty good at keeping a beat.

Never thought of it that way, but then it was a bit of a rough few weeks. You're right though, our names are a prime way of separating us.

Thank you!
I'm pretty sure in this case it's based off of the World of Darkness, but the notion of True Names has been around for a very long time, like at least biblical when Adam was "naming things", which can be read as "giving their existence purpose".

There's definitely some sweet movements.

It being a real guitar makes it even better.
