Love Is

By DESLRV on February 14, 2026 12:27 pm

It's Valentine's day (or it was if you're reading this), so this is a song with heart.
It builds up, like all the good times you'll have with each other, the adventures, the parties, the friends, and it ends with everybody leaving, except your love. You're still together in the end.

It's about time the melodica came back, tracked the whole thing basically in one go. Who cares it's just the same loop in F major penta, that's the whole point! A steady relationship! There's no need to make things complicated. There never was.

That is love.

- Leega

P.S. Happy birthday, my love.

Great build, love the melodica! Took a while for the metal to come in but it's great, too!

Love the melodica. Very unexpected. The whole arrangement is great.

Love the build on this - and that the core melody feels like a traditional song from the mid 1800s. Classic and modern. Awesome.

very American frontier. holds up next to the classics

My first thought when I heard the melody was "is this the hobbit theme song remixed!? Cause i love it!!!" Great job on it this week

one for the ages. i LOVE that melodica heart

It needed to build up a bit, set the scene, but it was ultimately inevitable, like many things in life.

Indeed, it sounds so good, and it has been way too long since we used it. Nobody expects the melodica.

I guess the mid 1800's were big on pentatonics, because it's really not that impressive, it's just homely. It's the melodica making it pastoral.

Thank you. Melodica has great power.

And then you found it wasn't, but you loved it even more?
The tune came in a dream, I don't think I can even recall LotR music, and haven't seen the Hobbit at all. It's just the melodica doing stuff.

Definitely a keeper, both of them.

wow reminds me of those 90's PC fantasy adventure games, in the best way of course!

"WHAT IS LOVE?" big_smile

I think I missed your earlier melodica track - I'll have to go find it! I'm really enjoying hearing you explore different instrumentation setups while keeping your style intact. Keep up the great work!

Love is an adventure after all.

As per our bio, it was in 2018, one-third of all songs were with a melodica, and probably the best one is this one. Incidentally, one you commented on. As well as a few others. But that's also what I mean with "been a while", it's been a while.

This is working very well. All the adventures, the friends along the way, the events, the dinners… and your love is steadfast in its pattern, and keeps you grounded. Very diverse sounds but they all fit!

melodica always gives me a comforting feel.  When the piano comes in with the added strings oof such a nice picture painted.  That guitar giving it even more triumph and good memories to be had feeling.  Well done!

Starting off with a melodica is so peak. It feels like the start to an adventure or maybe an end to said adventure and the heros are coming home (at least some of them are). Really gets in my head in a good way.

Great build-up. I dig the traditional vibe, augmented with more modern instrumentation.

Yea, it's a thing of art. Brings tears to our eyes every time.

Yea, it's a great instrument to just pick up and play. It always feels so good.

Perhaps both, the start of the adventure and the encore, with retrospective included.

This is how we prefer music, traditional music are classics for a reason, but maybe an electric guitar here and there wouldn't hurt.

That melodica and march suggest US Civil War-era military action to me, and the piano + strings after serve as an emotional cue that this is about relief after the won battle, or maybe even the entire war is finally over. Especially when the distorted guitars come in.

i was thinking the melodica and march suggested something pastorale like an old irish drinking song, sang at the top of a hill overlooking a wide, expansive glen. i definitely feel the exit of the party to leave nothing but the two in love together. evocative beauty.

And in the end, as is usual, love conquers all
