Walk That Lake

By Cursory on February 18, 2024 9:45 pm

Happy week 7! One random motivator for this week’s track was a quote from Maestro, the Leonard Bernstein movie: “If summer doesn’t sing in you then nothing sings in you. And if nothing sings in you, then you can’t make music.”

While this seems a bit hyperbolic, and summer feels far away, it reminded me to appreciate my surroundings. I’m lucky to live near a (smallish, human-made) lake and I’ve been walking there often. Here’s hoping I don’t take it for granted and it keeps singing. Thanks for sharing what sings in all of you on here smile

Everything about the vocals is wonderful on this and that slide guitar is giving me the most wonderful, goosebump feels when the whistling joins. Beautiful.

Beautiful. Agreed, the whistling takes the cake. Very well done vocals.

All the best beach songs come out in Jan/Feb I swear. Slide sounds sooooooo good here, ugh. Whistle works real good in this track too. I Spend a decent amount of time in Corpus Christi and this takes me back to so many memories of the boardwalks there. Hits the vibe real well

Beautiful quote and message. Beautiful song too. Your vocals sound especially deep and resonant in this one! smile

The addition of vocals to the acoustic guitar and lead guitar creates a great atmosphere. It's the best!

So chill and warm! Thx for the summer vibe heart

Favorited! A great message as well. Such a great tune. Come on summer!!

what a delight! puts me right back in summer enjoying the outdoors

gorgeous!

Beautiful song! Love the play between the vocals and slide guitar.

Thanks! I didn't learn to whistle until quite late in life, so it usually doesn't occur to me to put it into a song.

Thank you! Felt weird singing in such a deliberately deep-sounding way, but glad it was serviceable.

Aww thanks, very much appreciated smile

I'd like to think any season can sing in someone, Vivaldi showed us something like that at least.
Very chill vibe.
