I'll Make the Echoes

By Cursory on April 7, 2024 3:19 pm

Happy Week 14! Had different plans in mind for this track than what I was able to accomplish time-wise (and frankly skill-wise lol). Likely to revisit this one some day, but I don’t dislike where I left it. I was trying to figure out why this melody sounded familiar, and I think it’s similar to the bridge from “Fire and Rain” by James Taylor, go figure.

Consistently one of my favorite artist to check in on every week. The dynamics really help build this one.

Wow, this is lovely. This could totally pop up on my spotify recommendations. Reminds me of something but can't quite place it. Maybe fleet foxes? nick drake? sun kil moon? No, not those. But anyways, really nice song - the vocals sound great.

This is release-worthy. A complete song, no questions asked, no notes, five stars. Beautiful!

This is wonderful. Interested to hear what you would've done differently with a second pass, but I'm having a blast with this version already. Sometime I'd love to learn a bit more about the process behind the lyrics. Your tracks consistently have some really cool poetry. smile

just so good, amazing

Yet another fantastic song.  I really love the guitar layering near the end where there all stacked, very clean mix, bravo.

when the harmony comes in at the end tho

gorgeous music you are making here. when do we get an album?  smile

Very cozy sounds, every time they return.

I'm a huge Fleet Foxes fan so this warms my heart. The influence is certainly there. Nick Drake's great as well and I'm introducing myself to Sun Kil Moon now, thanks for this and the kind words.

Thanks so much! Yeah I'm always down to talk process with you and would love to pick your brain about your narratives/lyrics.

Thank you! This is something I'd like to do some day. I think I have some hang-ups about "actually" releasing music, part of why I'm doing WB is to get over this lol.
