Cold White Light

Back on Ableton this week because I'm away from my brother's wedding and Logic (and a lot of other DAWs) like to make the insert iLok display come up for every individual plugin on every startup. So a bit of different this week. A bit less composition-focused as I'm also working with bluetooth headphones, the latency makes playing stuff in quite hard and mouse on piano roll is not a good time for me.

I went with a process I used a lot in previous years of WB making use of Ableton's arpeggiator and random midi effects to drive Operator along with various processing all randomly automated to make a big messy pile of material that I could then slice up and make sequences. Sometimes the reconstituted results might be run through the same process again.

I had to think of white light/white heat reading the title, but was surprised, getting hitchhiked by an autechre kind of mindset, taking me on a very nice journey. Thanks for the background informations to this track.
