spring time

By Q-Rosh on April 7, 2024 3:17 pm

The result of 2 days. day one recording. next day the arrangement and EQ. The fridge is empty, no time to go and catch food for Paula, my kids and myself, because this became a very intense song, with more than 20 tracks to mix around. Outside was beautiful sunny blooming spring weather and I spent my time in the basement, getting it done.
The problem with this song, was the amout of material to choose from, keeping it simple and having the main guitarmantra on board during the travel. After all effort, I am thankful to the gracious musicgod, he let me create another nice song for weeklybeats and blessed my rig. Have a nice week.

This is a really cool track.  It has a nice groove but also an exploratory feel while still capturing a classic rock kind of vibe.  Excellent guitar work as well.

I really love the laid back guitar playing on this track, taking the track on a peaceful walk through the landscape. The drums sound is very direct, and it feels like we're in the room where it takes place, which makes it even more striking. Beautiful track to welcome back spring.

bless the rock gods and bless you, that was a fantastic (and much needed) journey

Rock gods? More like post-rock gods! The Rhodes blends super well with the guitars, a bit of a doorsy vibe there. I like the build, and appreciate the time it took to make.

Hope the kids are fed now! big_smile

Real nice feel to this one and some great guitar tones.  Love that crazy fuzz lead sound and the skittering drum parts are really interesting.  Adds a real uniqueness to it.

Go get some sun now.  smile

super nice sound! big up for the screaming distorted synth (or is it a live trapped forest spirit actually screaming?). good work on the guitar and percussions. not crazy about the chaotic beat but it does add the chaotic energy which could be intentional

I get trapped in the same vibe - finishing a track when there is good weather - I always kinda regret it but it seems like an inescapable part of being a musician or nerd of any kind. thanks for sharing!

Nice toasty tones. Just the right amount of saturation, sounds very warm.

Kind of sorry you didn't take the time to enjoy the weather, but happy you could give us that track which is a pleasant listen.

Are those your acoustic drums? It sounds very "in your face" tasty compression there, and the added panned delays are a fun touch, but agreed with @horatiuromantic that track probably would be more "grounded" if those delays were further in the mix.

Well done!

All that time spent in the basement, you still end up with a very sunny song.

I was studying some stuff for work and basically had this on loop for an hour. Awesome jam!

Damn, this is awesome.  So much cool processing.  I can't express my approval of the amount of tremolo/panning enough.  It's just great.

When the music gods tap you on the shoulder you have to listen, and get to work! Hard to do sometimes in our lives. Glad you listened to them and made this, it's epic! What a way to welcome spring. The guitar carries, but I really like the synth parts starting at 2:45 or so. Thanks for the journey

This is so enjoyable, lots of things to unravel and little intricacies throughout, can appreciate the work that went into this, now you can go and be with that spring weather outside.

this has it all, when you are open to receive it comes pouring in.

A very nice tune. It flows enough to take you from one place to another and makes you feel like you’re on a nice voyage.

It’s sort of modal without being modal. Very well done thank you.

beautiful song! i love what is happening around 2:30. Great ending too.  favorited and downloaded

Really cool how the drums are like wrapped around everything in the stereo field.  Love the rhythm of the snares as they fold out.  The solos are awesome!  So much ear candy going on between the thick guitars, noisy leads and rhodes.  Excellent journey had.

such a lovely spring reverie!
