Banjo Noodles

By Cursory on July 14, 2024 6:10 pm

Happy Week 28! Continuing to be busy, was tempted to skip this week as I don’t have much to share. Low-effort track so don’t feel obligated to listen lol

That said, currently visiting family and a banjo was available. It’s fun playing a less familiar fretted instrument and having to make do, and I love how banjos sound when playing even simple chords. For the banjo peeps (if you’re out there?) this one was tuned to some minor chord when I picked it up which I think is slightly different from standard. This made for some good brain exercise as well as some clearly wrong (as in not the intended) notes.

How pretty! Getting to hear you on banjo is a real treat. big_smile

be a real shame if that banjo ended up in your trunk when you leave, just saying....

very much enjoyed hearing you pick around! i've enjoyed playing them when i've been around one, but have never owned one (or felt like i had the discipline to justify a purchase). maybe someday!   smile

Feels like I unearthed a Cursory recording from a dusty tin time capsule.  Glad you didn't skip this week cuz I know I certainly appreciate all your tracks, noodles includled smile

Your banjo finger plucking is pretty solid for just picking it up in an unfamiliar tuning. I've never had enough time with one to figure it out but always loved how they sound.

I agree with JWH. Banjo feels at home in your hands. Put it in the trunk big_smile

Why did I never listed more often to Banjo music. This really feels very good. Thank you for sharing.

A very nice noodle. Such a breezy timbre to it. I really like your tempo play as well. Thanks for uploading!

You're too late, I'm already listening to it, and enjoying the homely feeling of the recording

Haha, it would be fun to have one for sure. Maybe it's time to start looking for a used one...

Thank you! I've gotten to pick around a good handful of times and always search for some kind of barre chord shape to fake it lol

I can't say I've listened to much, though I'm partial to some Punch Brothers. Thanks so much for listening and enjoying smile

Thank you! The parts when I slowed down were more out of necessity than a stylistic choice lol
