Jen Franke - Maiden Medicine (feat. Rachel Larson, prod. botanicus)

By botanicus on January 21, 2024 6:28 pm

It was tough to pull something together this week. Busy with a lot of other things.

This is a meditative medicine song - the repetition and progression build to transport.

I tried my hardest and still couldn't get the ukulele line clean...
Hope you enjoy!

What a trip. I like the wonderful tracks in weekly beats, each with their very special personality. That track does not disappoint. The relaxed guitar riff with the light percussion and the high singing on top of it is quite a trip. I was entranced by the deep soothing nostalgy (at least that's how I felt it). The meditative medicine song worked - i was definitely flying through it.
It may have been tough but it sounds effortless. Thank you for this track.

great groove, enjoyed this very much

Beautiful job, especially the vocals Rachel & Jen -- I love the vulnerability of the soprano vocals and the doubled octave down part that happens around 4:40. I didn't notice any uncleanliness in the ukelele, but then again I think my favorite tracks on here are ones that have some element of roughness to them that makes them all the more unique & human wink thank you!

I also love the title! The world needs more Maiden Medicine

Wow!!! mindblowing medicine.

I want to compliment the arrangement, immaculate mixing, and spot-on instrumentation (marimba + uke heart), because otherwise all anyone's going to remember by the time the track finishes will be those superb, knocked-out-of-the-ballpark vocals.  (+fav)

This goes down very smooth, great choice of instruments.

Those vocals are very nice! Everything around it is very well done.

Solid track, I'll have to come back to your tracks week after weeks. smile

I sampled bits of this song in my week 06 track―thank you for releasing music under a permissive license!
