Warp Steed

By blighters_rock on January 11, 2026 7:03 am

Hey everybody!

Last week, in typical WB fashion, it came right down to the wire and didn't have time to properly say hello. I'm not sure what sick compulsion keeps pulling me back, but back I have been pulled. And so: hello all, and nice to see you again!

---

This one is a Logic drummer doing all the percussion, and me doing all the rest of the instruments.

I recently picked up the new Helix Stadium for guitar tones, and I have been enjoying what it can do. It's also making me commit to tones before I track them, because it doesn't have a native plugin (yet, at least).

Nice motif with the pull off lick! Also, I get a kick out of you working in those spicy chords all the time now in a tasteful way, haha. Great tones and production--that lead lick/mini solo at the end of 1:30 was super nice, the way the drive breaks up those notes being played together is ear candy.

Woof woof are you double tracking that acoustic guitar? Sounds TIGHT and WIDE.

Great musicianship and restraint, really digging the tension and releases. The chord progression of behind the solo was doing some big lifting to contrast the chord sequence before it, and the solo itself amplifying it was also great.

+1 to the distortion point dialed used well

Super clean. Love the acoustic that comes in at :51

really expressive and tasty guitar playing!

Maaaaan this is a new favorite. Guitars sounding GOOD. Plucks around 1:10 🙌

Mic drop

Love this, both acoustic guitars and electric are great!

Those chord changes, I am very envious, I need to learn More!!!

See you next week.

Hello,  It's great to see you back!  This is one of those tracks that sounds almost too polished for a WB; the lead's final phrasing from ~1:35 feels particularly fantastic.

Ooof what soundtrack world did I just get blasted into.  Your guitar sounds amazing! Love the acoustic ones especially.  Those lines that trickle to the side! Excellent work!

haha the opening lick made me think of "the greatest song in the world.... tribute". Nice playing. Sounds great.

Really enjoyed when the palm-muted notes hit. Very spacious and pleasantly layered!

Oh wow, nice guitar tones for both acoustic and electric. Well played and a lovely arrangement too.

Love this, this is very cool
A slow mosey at warp speed
- Ebrit

I didn't realize the title of this track was warp steed at first but when it started I definitely felt it sound like a soundtrack to space western. Very nice use of electric and acoustic together. Really nice melodies in here!

Very enjoyable to listen to. The sound feels filling, like a nutrient rich meal that's also tasting good.

Just catching up on the past few weeks of WB - and this is incredible. I have to second the comment about musicianship and restrain. It’s very tasteful and the tone is excellent.

Shoutout logic drummer too! You dialed that in well and the mix is SOLID

Sounds really clear and good!

you live in AZ, right?
this music FEELS like AZ to me

LOVE IT

(if you don't live in AZ, this is still rad)

also: the tones are perfect
also: the guitar interplay section is THE BEST

you are, however, missing a rattlesnake rattle to conclude the piece smile

Thanks! Yeah, I love when I can make those spicy chords flow into

Yeah, acoustic guitar double tracked and hard-panned. I find it works really well for faster strummy stuff, but I think it did OK here too. Thanks!

Thanks! When I started WB in 2022 I think I knew none of these weird chords, pretty much just maj/min/5 chords. Been slowly trying to learn and work them in.

I have such a hard time getting acoustic tones I'm happy with, but I think I found spot and mic setup that kinda works, kinda set up diagonally in the room to avoid as many direct reflections as I can.
