Suburban Rage

Co-write with my neighbor and friend Chris, who promises to participate in WB2028. Everyone say "Hi, Chris!"

I'm mostly going the MIDI drum route this year. Just under the wire, no time for mixing.

Mix sounds very solid again. Love the main guitar lead melody. Dig the intro claps too. Surprised you didn't go for more of your signature bass zing. Always impressed how many lyrics you can crank out.

hi chris !!

this is so cool, feeling like some classic NOFX or smth, it's killer heart

can you tell i don't caaaaaaaaaaaare 🤘🏼

I don't know how you always recapture the perfect vibe of the late 90s punk track. This is magic. Now I feel like playing tony hawk pro skater.

Yes sir! Love that 90s punk!

The theme in the lyrics is pretty great, haha. The post-chorus riff is super fun too. Tell Chris he can still jump in an participate this year, but either way it was a cool track.

I listened to this and punched my neighbors mailbox.

Hi Chris!

Very cool song, but I have to complain about the non-acoustic drums for that rock style it would bring this up just a bit. (But yeah I know acoustic drums are a bitch)

But I know you can rock acoustic drums as well and track is so good that it is why I wish for just a bit more. smile

Thanks for the rock!

Very very catchy song and very clever lyrics! This was a very satisfying listen. Also the nostalgic sounding melodies are a real treat. Nice work!

hell yais so catchy and love the guitar solo blending with your vocals.  \m/ so good!

The revolution well be televised, with ads every 10 minutes.

Hi Chris!

You guys nailed all the tropes and came out with a super fun punk rock anthem.

The vocals sound so good on this. Very impressive!

After I buy what I need 🎸⚡️

Can you tell I don’t careeeeee

So good. As usual your lyrics feel simultaneously well crafted, genuine, relatable, and well-fitting to the music. The music outside of the lyrics is quite good as well.

Chris is welcome to join now if he likes, 2028 is a long ways away. Lots of people miss weeks here and there, and we’re all about beating perfectionism so I hate to see “missing the first few weeks” be a reason to wait so long until 2028!

I heard this during weeklymeets but didn't fully internalize the lyrics. This is awesome and hilarious. Great job!

THAT'S SOME GOOD ROCKIN

hell yeah, stick it to the man (for as long as it pays well)

Great tongue in cheek lyrics! Really enjoyed this!

Hi Chris!

Great lyrics! nice (new) guitar work!
Shared on discord because its awesome!

The words are spot.on. So is the singing, the music, well, the whole song. Love it.

Catchy song and some fun lyrics with sharp commentary.  I think it's totally possible the high school kids might want to sing along.

Hi Chris! 00s Hot Topic haunts every bit of this track, and not just the lyrical satire. The snotty punk vocals hit (woah-oh), as do the double snare hits on 2 in the verse. But my favorite is the lead guitar, which pairs a Warped Tour tone with Fountains of Wayne power-pop sarcasm

heart The humor in this hits perfect.

This is goddamn amazing. You nailed the vibe and poked the perfect amount of fun. Love the lyrics in the bridge!

Love the lyrics and the sounds - definitely brings me back do a different era.

Hi Chris!!! Y’all made SUCH a fun one. I love everything about this — the arrangement, the guitar tone, the lyrics. It’s fantastic commentary and everything about this song is clever and fresh, and I love the humor without ever getting silly. Y’all are a great songwriting duo and your voice is sounding really great!

I hope you take this as a compliment — Suburban Rage reminds me of a lot of my favorite Bowling For Soup songs! Very cool.

Great track, well-written and produced and you brought the energy. Love it!

the irony of Nirvana becoming a t-shirt brand is so true and crazy

pitch perfect lyrics, dude you are so awesome!!!!

HI CHRIS

love the "now that i have" ending

Damn, you took me right back to hanging out in the mall back in the 2000s. Wonder if I've still got my wallet chain somewhere haha

This is fantastic! Hit me right in the nostalgia. And the lyrics are spot on! This is one I'm going to listen to over and over again.
