Moving On

By blighters_rock on May 29, 2022 6:24 am

I had planned on doing a full band rock song this week, but wasn't feeling up to it. Decided to try to get a single-take, no-metronome, no-edits recording of an acoustic ditty I've been playing around with for the last week or two.

Had to learn some simple video editing things to align the audio and do fades. I can only imagine how much work some of you guys (Ahem @orangedrink) go through every week to make content.

Fingerpicking isn't really my thing, but I'll give it a go.

Not entirely pleased with the audio. Used two AKG C414 in a mid-side config. Might have fiddled with it a little too much and over-compressed it. Oh well, video is made, song is done.

This is a really really great tune. Very nice work. I love the interplay of the chords and melody. The rhythm is nice and you play it really well. Good job! You should do more fingerpicking stuff, you have a good ear for it.

Pretty cool hearing this style of guitar playing from you. I hope you do more, especially in combination with your singing. I can imagine you pulling off some good folk Americana. smile

just beautiful!

I know the sigh at the beginning of your video so, so well. Really catchy tune. I like it a lot.

Nice guitar lick. I like the chord progression, would love to hear a later iteration of this one.

Very cool, not bad at all for fingerpicking not being your thing.  Would love to hear some vocals over this at some point, this could be a great singer/songwriter style song.

I really enjoyed this track. Nice work!

The video sounds a lot better, but they both sound very pleasant.
