The Skull Throne

By BarristerPlong on February 13, 2026 5:59 am

This week feels surreal to me. I've been wanting to and chasing the sounds I made this week since I started this pursuit. I am beyond thrilled with the results.
This was all in Ableton done on my 7 string in drop G#, rhythm done on the neck pickup, lead on the bridge, bass parts were on my wife's gretsch short scale bass and the drums are the Urgitone plugin.
It requires a little bit of tweaking before it reaches its album release form, but I am super proud of how it turned out.

This is amazing. Got me headbanging big_smile

After listening to this I am all out of blood. Nice throwdown!

YES! Got a bit of stoner doom in there, too! Nice job

Hell yeah, love the sound!

DUuuuuudde this is epic. The sounds of horses and fighting at the beginning and the rock bend of hell. Doom is upon us!!!

Heavy, rocking, and worthy of the title The Skull Throne.  I liked the slow down section and the build back up.

This sounds huge! Perfect doom sound - absolutely LOVE that chugging syncopated riff. Sounds like a lost classic. Favorited!

This is such a triumph, congratulations! Such a massive, pristine and filthy sound, just awesome.

I just listened to the Tim Allen song and... Oh boy, was it somethin'!!! Hahahaha... Hilarious!
Now, pnto your actual WB submission: this fuckin' RULES!!! Awesome, heavy, gritty and VERY fun! Great work!!!

we are doomed!!!

This is Warhammer as hell and I'm so here for it.
Kinda makes me wanna be painting my miniatures instead of doing weekly beats, alas I only have time for one big_smile

This is good stuff! Great playing and really interesting to read your gear breakdown.

hell yes. there's not enough metal in my diet these days. loved the switchup around 2.5 mins that made me think of the energy change in Metallicas call of ktulu for some reason.

BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!

also nice list of your gear; i love reading that stuff.

Love those low tuned guitars, crazy heavy and really nice. Love the 6-8 "stoner rock" vibe.

Well played.

Here we f-ing go. We have arrived. Massive. When we need to rock here we are. Great sound and mix, and that riff, wow.

Thanks! The battle at the beginning was actually the final addition. It really brings it all together.

Thank you! I really liked the change-up in tempo too. Wasn't sure I could pull it off but it came out alright!

Same. I have neither the time nor the money for Warhammer but it's such a compelling universe.

A good groove is important whilst wading through oceans of gore.

Yeah man.  Some sweet stoner doom here.  Nice work on pulling some killer tones from the Katana too.  I dig Rat pedals as they're quite flexible and unique as far as gain pedals go.

Short scale bass tuned to G#?  You're brave.  Haha.  I use a 5 string long scale tuned to A in one band and that just does it with thick strings.

I love the Rat pedal. The tones you can get from it are so varied.
I didn't drop the short scale to G#, only my 7 string lol. I am not sure a short scale at drop G# would even be playable but now I wanna find out!

Haha, excellent.  Get some super slop going.  \m/

Milk for the Khorn flakes.
Awesome stuff.
