Arms Reach

By b bro on December 30, 2025 9:49 pm

wrote this in 2024 revised it in 2025 and finalized in 2026,

this was one of my favorites from my first time doing WB (week 44 for anyone who wants to check it out... the audio is trash and my playing is not the best) but I thought it would be a good start to start with something that was field-tested so I added a verse and changed some chords and its much better this year

tbh I'm a little sick and so my voice is a little off sadly sad

lyrics: (verse 1)
I wish I could know
all the things to say
as soon as you came in
all the words ran away
I'm left alone
with you around the bend
if you could only see
me when I'm with you

(chorus)

I'm trying to keep you
within my arms reach
holding on
because of gravity
from across the room
your gaze holding mine
I'm trying to stay
within your arms reach

(verse 2)

I'm calling out
my voice echoing
like flowers upon the wind
their petals dancing
please don't be mad at me
there's no need to yell
its only my anxiety
a mental storm throwing debris

(chorus)

well if you've made it this far thanks for checking out my song and I cant wait to check yours out.

thanks yall so much for all the comments i love coming on here and reading, replying and returning the favor each week

Such a nice listen, and I think your voice is great here. It is a little quiet, but also it has a calming and genuine feeling. I look forward to more smile

and I cant wait to hear more of your music! (i went and listened to your song and its pretty good btw) and thanks for that complement I really appreciate it

Welcome back! Yeah it is quiet but that's OK, just makes you listen a little harder.
I have the darndest time getting my tracks to be even somewhat as loud as everyone else, I think this week I added like +6 dB on a compressor and +4 on a limiter on the master track. And then I wonder why, and what may be lost in the process. But enough about me! Great job!

I know I was given some great advice on making tracks louder on the discord in 2024 but I never followed up on it T_T

heartfelt song - great sound

sounds great, b bro! very gentle, like sitting by the river in spring
i'm so glad you are back this year!  heart

im so glad to be back i missed my happy place in 2025

I like it. Punch up the levels so we can hear better. The melodic progression has whispers of Eagle-Eye Cherry Save Tonight.

will do and thx for the advice nd comment!

Very quiet, but very pretty.
I gave it a quick boost in Audacity and it sounds solid.

lovely playing. It's always good to hear something recorded simply, but confidently. heart
