The Pull

Hoo boy here we go.

First, congrat on everyone for reaching 25% of the year! THATS NUTS.

I wanted to round out the quarter with something that pushes me a little, plus I had the house to myself early in the week, so why not try some.. singing? ugh.. why James.

I think this came out pretty stinky. I mean that in a 'wow this sounds earnest, maybe too earnest..' way. But hey. I could not get the final part down right at all, so its just not in the track, so it does kinda have one 'chorus' then just goes off somewhere else. Maybe take a stab at your own words? It would surely be better than what I had in mind big_smile No amount of effects and tricks could cover that I couldn't sing what I wanted in time.

Anyway, the second worst thing about singing is you need words.. So.. I've copied this below the art.

I'd have loved more time to cook on this one, but also I'm feeling pretty burned out and frankly need to recharge a bit better.

Again, amazing job on folk getting through the first quarter.

A star within a star is just another star.
A world within a world within a world,
is nothing but a tale you’re told.
And waves beyond the waves beyond the ocean,
never crash before your bow.
And gravity just plays its part,
drags you down and splits the atoms of your heart.

A year another year.
One more second passes by
Empty alleys, empty streets,
abandoned cars and fallen trees,
Another place left to rust in time.

The waves crash over waves,
leave spinning on the spot you chose to watch.
You let the gravity of all the things
jam your veins and tie the knots
and now your story starts

The silence, the silence
It’s eating you alive.

oh man when those arps fade in just a tiny bit, so gooooood! Man, this is just solid. Your writing and arranging is top tier. Love the vocals and placement in the mix. Great track!!

Man, you may think this came out stinky, but I love this. This has such cool progressions. Nice job!

ooof! such a warm sound from the combo of your vocals and the opening guitars.  Love the post rock feels especially at 2:30 and how it builds again and just explodes.  Such an epic track! \m/ Excellent work!

HUGE arrangement, the amount of buildup in the first 3 minutes is insane!
That ending is fist in the sky epic.

Very cool , great build!

Such a great track. Great vibe, groove, arrangement and instrumentation. The vocal is great too, I thought I has great choices in tone, timing and balance. The only thing that almost disappeared in the mix for me is "the silence" phrases because the swelling of the instruments overwhelms it a bit. Amazing job.

A year another year.
One more second passes by
Empty alleys, empty streets,
abandoned cars and fallen trees,
Another place left to rust in time.

BIG FEELS

"I'd have loved more time to cook on this one"...idk what you're talking about, your song is the most solid I've heard this week.

This is awesome, your voice goes very well with your music.
