Concrete Halls

By zpeisman on April 24, 2022 10:46 pm

Echoes rang with joy and laughter

We once lived in concrete halls

Wings then grew through solid matter

Rubble where the feathers fall

Fourth week in a row using Korg Gadget. Started it monday, with some guitar fiddling throughout the week (the guitar was recorded through Gadget's amp sim). Was planning to make it fancier, but it wanted to be simple.

the guitar sounds nice and creamy. very well done.

Epic sound! Your guitar really shines. Really nice amp sim.  I like the simplicity of the arrangement.  Drums are rock solid and the arp and melody have a good drive to them.  Feels like a movie to me!

Sounds like a haunted childhood memory. Playing Barbarian or something, listening to Queen. That choir is spooky. Very cool track. I like that Mike Oldfieldy guitar melody (and playing.)

Very satisfying sounds, even with the Gadgets' limited choir. I guess if you added some reverb, it would sound more hall-like?

Guitar is through Korg Gadget amp sim?! Excellent sound. The undeniable synth pop aspect of the choir section works well, always partial to your writing.

This is the second time Barbarian came up this year, after not coming up since last I played it in the 90s. I think that's the first time I heard a computer speak: BAR-BARIAN over the shitty PC Speaker...

Thank you for the feedback all! smile

@Sorkfot: there is definitely some kind of Oldfield influence in there, probably in other aspects too. I'm sure your use of old school choirs and voice patches in some of your tracks also played a part!

@Devieus: that's a good suggestion, I've been having bit of a lazy approach with reverb in Gadget smile

@ilzxc: yep, guitar straight into Gadget
