Menace

This one is a bit all over the place, but It's got a lot of my style infused into it. Love some specific parts. I'm not totally sure how well it all meshes, but this year is more about being experimental.

Thanks for listening, Cheers!

Those crunchy chords at the start are so fun and full of attitude. Love the evolution of the sound choices as you move through the piece -- especially like the gradual movement from chippy sounds to more mellow piano in the latter half

I definitely enjoyed this one.  Menace is a good description of the vibe, though it's a nicely subtle menace.  The short melody lines are a hit for me.  If I had to pick something that's not working, it's the drums, I guess.

Yeah I have a bad habit of using the same drums a lot.. I have some sort of aversion to using drum loops unless I create them myself for some reason.. but then I struggle t make patterns and sounds that I like as much as the ones I've been using. But drums are on my chopping block soon, to overhaul or improve in a big way.. because I listen to a lot of music where the drums are just.. incredible.. But I need to learn how to make trap or rnb drum beats. I also have an aversion to just copying things outright thought lol.

anyway, thank you for listening and double thank you for the feedback!

I like the incorporation of softer tones later on, nice progression. Since you mentioned drums, it is interesting drums are kind of formulaic in a way yet can almost become distracting if too repetitive. I'd say some things to play with would be varying velocity/volume. Little ghost notes and slight off beats can add a lot of character. I also think it can be helpful to consider when you want the percussion to shine vs when it serves to support the other instruments (i.e. at what moments do you want the listener to notice something interesting about the percussion?)
