"Mecânica Instrumental" - instrumental mechanic

Hi everyone!

Nearly didn't make it this week... Had a busy week and had nothing to show up for. A few hours before the deadline, decided to grab some objects I found laying around and recorded a few takes of handling noises and did a quick sound design sketch.
Recorded a toy car, a Pez dispenser and an eletric shaver. Only used a synth for the low note that comes and goes. Did some processing and arrangement in Live and voilá!

Hope you enjoy.
See you next week!

Very cool sounding sample and manipulation! RIP R2s butthole.

uohhhhhh!! where am i entering???...  :=) prova superada! Nice tapestry, mate. Have a softer week!

Great capturing … I dig a lot this mechanical sounds 🤘

This is great. Such spookyness from such mundane things. Awesome work.

Very clever use of what's at hand. Music is truly everywhere, and dispensed in little rectangular shapes.

Great sound design! Love how you got such an ominous soundscape from everyday things. Also, yay PEZ!

Thats organic, your setup looks good

nice headphone listen, xavier!
i'm jealous of that 414. and also, it kinda looks like an electric shaver  big_smile
cheers!

Cool sound design stuff. Those mics sound great.

Proof you can make music with anything! This is a great, kinda dark soundscape. I never would have imagined the use of a few random objects - I may have to try this!

Thanks everyone!
The mic setup is super handy as it is always ready to go. Great source of inspiration from very random objects.

I like this concept a lot, reminds me of a TV composer I used to follow called Diego Stocco. Might have to copy your desk mic setup..

Mostly DIY but also got some photography gear to be able to position the mics around the objects.
Always at hand and ready to record.
