the spangle can be adjusted

a take on an idea from sometime last year.  (insta)
M8 raw render, all synthesized, no samples.

The groove took _forever_ to dial in.  Ended up on 08/07/06/07, like a toggling swing, weighing on the beats, but at the same time rushing to the 16th note before the beat.
also the first time I really tried one of the vocal macrosynth engines.

spangle
this term gives me endless joy
don't get confused: "big spangle" and "large spangle" are equivalent

Pro tip for anyone reading this far: you can get fuzzqzzy wavetable-esque square basses with an IMP (impulse) modulator on a square wave carrier in the M8 FM engine.

Wow, tiptop notch!

Helpful information, but more than that, nice lead.

"Whoa, I wonder what that sounds like."

"Whoa, I wonder if that's what shrooms are like."

Incredible sound design, and the orchestration mixing complex voice / bass with simpler bits is top-notch. All of the "internal render on the M8" captions kinda give me anxiety (specifically in WB context) -- and this track in particular is goddamn impeccable (the softer versions of what Imma call "chorus" that hits in full at 2:02 are flawless).

After seeing the instagram version, kinda curious how this larger arrangement translates to an alternative instrumentation, (been kind of lamenting the loss of b-sides in our increasingly streaming world, and even the intro-only sounds w/ Analog Four on the lead is convincing AF, so just pointing out would totally work). Don't find myself reliable enough yet, but (with your permission) would love to take a stab at remixing this sometime later this year.

ya sure, curious where you'd take it!  hmu on discord if some stems/transcriptions/whatever would be handy
