evil folder

My shortest WB sprint so far.  Just over 4 hours from OP-1 blank slate to internal Album recording.  But there's a bit more history:
* Concepts from January 2017: "they're evil" and "wrong folder"
* Started riffing a few days ago on a B section (the descending melody).  Got the idea for the rolling rhythm instead of the drum and bass vibe.
* Fleshing out those ideas and outlining the track structure this morning
* <5hr before the deadline, started tracking in the OP-1 from a blank slate

All internal OP-1 sounds, recorded one take to internal Album.  Bit of post touch-up.

I really like the main bass and drums to this.  The bass is a few similar DSYNTH patches, sequenced in 3 layers.  The drums are a stock drum kit, trimmed short and an envelope-following Nitro for punch.  Definitely hit just the crunch I was going for.

The rest fell short for lack of time.  Too ambitious concepts for texture and structure.  Only got to lay down a shallow sketch of the harmonies and atmospheres I had in mind.

Some pretty malicious movements in this.

Couldn't have put it better myself.

Digging the vibe between 0:42–1:20 that picks up again from 2:50ish through to the end.

tis the kind of pure evil i can really snuggle with heart

I really really like the distorted drums + bass combo in this.

Very nice. I like the different ambiances thru the track.

this has this incredible white hot squarepusher dnb energy but all on op-1

SO SICK

Also NITRO is the BEST, I need to just bounce a full track through it one of these weeks.

love that abrupt breakdown in the mid.

impressive work!

This is great, dig the bass growls.

My mind is melting. Well done!
