Hope everyone is having a good weekend! I threw this together pretty quickly just so I can say I’m still participating haha. Just came up with a drum part and a bassline and just tried to get more than a minute's worth of mileage out of it. Not feeling super great today. Not quite in migraine territory but kind of the precursor where I feel a tightness in the muscles above my temples, clenched jaw, a dull ache behind my eyes, a muscle in my neck that feels like the source of the pain but no amount of massaging will help it, etc. etc. So I’m just looking to kick back and chill today with a heating pad and some nice music. Maybe do some gaming and watch a movie.
This is pretty nerdy but I keep track of everything I play and watch. I just like being able to look back and recall what it was I was doing at certain times of the year because sometimes I might see something like “Oh, I was playing Persona 5 in July of 2023” and it recall other memories around that period of time. The same is true for some music, like anytime I listen to Linkin Park’s Meteora I’m immediately thrown back to being 13 years old and playing Warcraft 3 on my mom’s laptop next to the living room window while wearing headphones.
So yeah, this month I’ve beaten Grim Fandango, Baba is You, Subnautica: Below Zero, Dredge: The Iron Rig, Superliminal, and Diablo 4. I’ve been enjoying Diablo 4 quite a bit actually. It’s pretty casual and it’s nice to just turn down the game and turn up a spotify playlist and check out new tunes. Honestly my preferred/favorite way of listening to music.
On the movie front: Crash (cronenberg, 1996), Dredd, Dune: Part Two, Blue Beetle, The Lair, Alien: Romulus, and I Saw the TV Glow. That last movie in particular has kind of stuck with me. I didn’t love it, nor was I particularly entertained by it when I was watching it, but the more it kind of brews in the back of my mind the more I really appreciate it for what it is.
Anyways, hope everyone has a nice week.
