Fragment of a Distant Memory

Super duper busy week. Spent Monday through Thursday on a work trip, of which the return trip was especially exhausting (done with work at 12pm, first flight didn't leave until 7pm and it would be 6 total hours of flying + a layover), so I spent most of Friday just recouping. Yesterday Saguaro Gigante, Blighter's Rock, and myself jammed and went out to dinner so I didn't get started on anything until this morning.

Also, there's the Elden Ring DLC that needs to be played.

I'm just too mentally drained to write something completely from scratch so this is something I wrote probably more than a decade ago that was transcribed in Guitar Pro. I always wanted to use it for something, but it's also just been sitting in a folder for a long time so I figured I should probably just put it out there. Maybe it'll find its way onto an album properly in the future.

Classic, I remember hearing a version of this before. I remember loving it before and still do. Kinda creepy but pretty. Super cool to hear this!

Really cool to hear this again! I like hearing it with the piano and all the reverb. It's a nice touch! Sounds very somber and massive.

Nice piano piece, progressive and angular, while still nostalgic and melodic. I hope work treats you better this week!

I really like the atmosphere of this piece.  Very dark and contemplative, and the harmonies are complicated and unexpected, but in ways that work retrospectively.  I can't quite place it... but it feels like it belongs in the score of a game like Disco Elysium... or maybe a dark themed JRPG, like right at the Act II "Midpoint Reversal"... when the hero is betrayed by an ally and "all seems lost".  Has a very "this is what you get for not seeing this coming" vibe.

wow, that sounds like a really intense week! thanks for this lovely piece, quite enjoyed listening this morning. hope you have more breathing room this week  heart

The first 40-something seconds sound like a Marillionesque interlude in a 10-minute-long epic track. Definitely work it into a longer piece at some point, it's good eerie stuff.

cool to hear about Weekly-beaters jamming! +1 about this being eerie, could see it on a creepy film. Nice to release it too

Props for pushing through, and for breathing new life into an old idea. It's got your trademark explorative, haunting sound. Hope you get a chance to catch your breath this week!

Love the chord progression of this.. Very eerie sorta feeling to it like visions of Simon Belmont going after Dracula smile

The simple bass is actually my favorite part. Carries the vibe

Whoops wrong track was playing through several. The occasional spicy piano chord is my favorite on this one
