Easy Peasy

I couldn't think of a better title, haha.

So, first things first. I GOT THE JOB! WOOT! Excited and nervous. I'm still working at the same company but it's a significant step up in promotion. A coworker of mine went to the same department about half a year ago and he's been happy with it and said it's chill, so here's the hoping I can find a stress-free balance between the new position and still committing to finishing out this year's Weekly Beats.

For this song, I just wanted to keep things simple. Came up with like three chords to build a melodic structure from for the xylophone-style synth. Threw down a tame bass line and drum beat, did a little guitar improvisation. That's all. Just feel like chilling the rest of the weekend. I might go see that movie Black Phone.

Speaking of which, if any of you use Letterboxd, add me! I'd love to see what everyone else has been watching.

I like how this one turned out. There's some really catchy melodies in here! The harmony is nice and I like the execution on the xylophone synth. The guitar solo is really pleasant and melodic. Great job!

Holy cow, great news! Congrats and good luck.
And great job with the track too! big_smile

I am happy for you. best wishes for your new position. I like the guitarsolo in this track. Good job.
Btw, I had a song with the same title this year week5, too. Haha.

Congratulations on the new job! I hope you enjoy it.
haha, I love the fact that you said that you kept things "simple". Between the interesting rhythm and the epic solo, you have a different definition of simple than us mere mortals. smile

Congratulations, awesome news. Excellent track as well, particularly the solo.

Hey congratulations on the job! This song sounds triumphant! Enjoying the jazzy free form lead and the simple but effective movement of chord coloration shifting to minor within the same chord or one note difference.  Very nice!

CONGRATS!

Also, I did add you on Letterboxd smile

I can't wait to see Black Phone - Sinister is one of my all-time-favorites.

I really love it when you do this genre, whatever you call it - relaxing, chill, secret time signature trick, drums not too loud

You got this, this amazing song is proof

I agree with what the other commenters said about the lead guitars. I particularly liked them in the outro. Just the right tone and feel to end the track. Great vibe. Congrats on the new gig! See you next week!

10/4, but who's counting? Sounds like a measure of 6 and a measure of 4. Feels really weird to count in straight 5.
