Coming Home

So I am copying this from a Facebook post I made the day of my mum's funeral:
"Today we buried my mum. It was what you would expect a funeral to be but definitely a pleasant one as they go. I've been going back to this moment I shared with mum during her final hospital stay, I hadn't long been to Good Things festival and I was talking over the phone to mum about the bands I'd seen and finding a bit of common ground hyping up that some artists did some great Aussie covers. I mentioned Corey Taylor covering INXS and mum said she had always liked them. I sent her as much of this video as I could due to her flip phone being limited to MMS files, but it was pretty cool then and it's even cooler now that I got my mum to listen to the front man of Slipknot with a mutual respect for the song Don't Change. It says a lot about the power of music 😊 the song in itself is ironically true of mum's character."
To add to this, I was also listening to INXS on Spotify in the accommodation provided by the hospital in what would have been mum's final hour alive. I remember how foreshadowing the song "Beautiful Girl" felt at the time. I fell asleep for a whole 40 minutes around 1:30 in the morning and was awoken to my dad knocking on the door to tell me mum had passed not long after 2am.
