Coming Home

So I am copying this from a Facebook post I made the day of my mum's funeral:

"Today we buried my mum. It was what you would expect a funeral to be but definitely a pleasant one as they go. I've been going back to this moment I shared with mum during her final hospital stay, I hadn't long been to Good Things festival and I was talking over the phone to mum about the bands I'd seen and finding a bit of common ground hyping up that some artists did some great Aussie covers. I mentioned Corey Taylor covering INXS and mum said she had always liked them. I sent her as much of this video as I could due to her flip phone being limited to MMS files, but it was pretty cool then and it's even cooler now that I got my mum to listen to the front man of Slipknot with a mutual respect for the song Don't Change. It says a lot about the power of music 😊 the song in itself is ironically true of mum's character."

To add to this, I was also listening to INXS on Spotify in the accommodation provided by the hospital in what would have been mum's final hour alive. I remember how foreshadowing the song "Beautiful Girl" felt at the time. I fell asleep for a whole 40 minutes around 1:30 in the morning and was awoken to my dad knocking on the door to tell me mum had passed not long after 2am.

I like the feel you captured in this track. Actually it reminded my quite a lot of NWSPR's music as well, with a good elegant mix of electronic and instruments.
I wish you and your relatives the best to get better.

So much great Aussie rock coming out of the 80s. This track captures that feel perfectly. It's cool that something so wonderful can come out of something so heartbreaking. Good on you for focussing on the positive memories - it can be hard to think through the fog of loss.

sounds great smile good guitar tone.

The 1 vocal phrase says it all, lovely. I hope you are taking good care of yourself & getting some rest.

wow man, i'm here for you.
