New Wave Anthem #24

By NWSPR on January 21, 2024 11:43 pm

Short, sweet and sappy with some minimal vocals.  All the synth tracking is from the Prophet Rev 2. Sorry for not being present for these first weeks.  I have driven over a thousand miles over three states making repeated trips to get my daughter off to college. Just got back from a resupply and she is doing very well after her first week!

Hope all is well and looking forward to catching up on tracks after missing last week completely.  May just be one of those years!

I may have been primed by the description, but it feels like a driving track. It's something about the pace, that 8/8 bass. The synth entering at 0:15 put a smile in my face - the tone, with that reverb make it feel like a CGA colored rainbow. Very cool break t 1:18 with the descending arpeggio.

Aptly named track, it feels like a 80s anthem!

Hey man, welcome back.  Sounds like a rough start to the year but glad you got her situated.

This is some awesome synth work, very nice first track of the 24.  That transition at 1:40 is fucking sweet, it sounds so big when everything comes in.  Loving the Sequential sound.  I picked up a Take 5 recently, so I'll go after this kind of vibe this year too.

Oh this is a mile high, I love those soaring synths. You could throw this on a cassette and convince me it was a lost classic from 1987. Well done!

Vocals are very low in the mix, I'm assuming that's intentional? Hoping to hear some clearer singing in your future work!

Well done - takes me back to that era, great use of the synth motif at the top to build the track, listened multiple times already.

Nice track, I really like the breakdown at the minute mark and that first vocal-sounding sample that comes in during the build around 1:20. Nice job!

Classic synth bassline and love that descending synth melody.  The ticking arp is suhweet too!  Good to hear ya back!

Yess, I was hooked and doing a little dance here, but the break and the vocal entry took it all the way beyond. Fun to hear these classic sounds. Prophet sounds tops.

Don’t feel under pressure. As long as you deliver such goodys, everything is fine. Have a great year 2024, you and your family.

Sounds positively joyous, uplifting, and for sure anthemic.  Hope things settle down a bit for you.

New year, new anthem. You're definitely always welcome.
