I’d like to first thank everyone for their kind comments and listening. My dad is thankfully home and out of the hospital. My afib was quiet this week. Buuuut my 2017 iMac decided its hard drive had enough of me. On Wednesday I was trying to be adventurous and revisit the Butch Vig drums that I had in kontakt. I hadn’t used it since WB24 when I made Darkillian’s Peak. Well somewhere in the past year I unwittingly upgraded the Native Instruments loader app which in turn changed how kontakt files were viewed. So on my old OS some libraries were no longer visible. The only solution was to upgrade OS or give up. I prob should have given up in this situation. When I tried to upgrade the OS the HD started acting weird. Long story short. The HD failed. Thankfully I anticipated this debacle and uploaded a track hours before.
Thankfully the repair shop I took it too was able to restore the original hd image and will also be installing an SSD HD rather than the old moving parts default hd I had. The scary thing is I do have Time Machine backups and I do have my music and pictures backed up on external. But initially when I tried to Time Machine to the failing hd it was only showing one backup from back ‘21. Soooo I’m hoping everything goes smoove for the repair dude.  It’s kind of sad that my whole life sorta resides in this one lil “box” (monitor). My music. My pictures. My memories. It makes me wish I just had a real piano and a 4 track sometimes. But the truth is without the computer I wouldn’t have released an album. I just hope I can get this before week 8. Or you might be hearing an acapellla track or even worse me trying to jam on the harmonica for 60 secs. So I apologize for the sorta slow_trash that is this week and possibly next week. My room feels so empty without the brain (cpu) of my music. Thank you for stopping by. I hope you are all well. Looking forward to this weeks tunes though I might be a lil late as I have no pooter **ginger_waves**

PS I couldn't even save a pic into the track or edit tag info because my computer thought it was out of hd space while trying to upload thursday.  So I apologize for the less than usual post.

Ugh, I know the feeling.  I have so much important stuff saved on my severely outdated computer and I'm deathly afraid both of it crashing, but also of upgrading to something new.  Hope everything works out for you.  I'd say music wise you've made the best out of the situation.  This track has a fun, happy, upbeat vibe to it.  I feel like I'm bouncing along to it.

"you might be hearing an acapellla track or even worse me trying to jam on the harmonica for 60 secs"

but i'm here for this though... heart

this is an adorable sounding track & i hope you have a week of calm this week wizard!

WOOF gotta get those backups!

yeah, for this exact reason i have a separate "music computer" that stays offline.

good luck!

also i'm listening/reading out of order so glad GingerDad™ is home and out of the hospital

love the playful beat here - the half time at the end is actually genius - this is a good album track in between heavier pieces

playful is the perfect word for this track, so great! lifted my spirits.

so glad that Dad is home, and hope he is getting some good rest. also glad that afib sat this one out!
erggg computer problems  D:

ok universe, gonna need some healthy drama free weeks for my friends now!!! big hugs, Wizard heart

Hang onto that computer shop for dear life they sound amazing.

This is a lovely piece and that very simple percussion really kinda makes it perfect. I am here for harmonica and accapella heart

something about the tone, reverb, delay, this is a magical song that I feel like I could listen to forever. Glad your dad is home and that SSD will be nice anyway.
Glad yo didn't lose it all.

Yikes, sorry to hear about the hard-drive issue, but so glad to hear you and your Dad are feeling better.
This is such a fun loop, I'm glad it made it up in time! big_smile

The bit of chromaticism goes down nicely, it adds a certain spice that I like a lot with the mellow sounds. Cool track. I've heard bad things about Time Machine before, I hope youget everything back in one piece!

Oof, got so stressed just reading that. I literally need to revisit backup plans of my fam today to make sure we're not blindsided by hardware failure like that.

Life is not letting you off! All the more impressive that you manage to keep the streak alive. Here's to easier times ahead!

rather your 'pooter than your ticker! glad your dad got to go home and I hope you get to soon as well.

anything you touch / make has something special about it - this one included

It never is fun to have computer issues!

Happy to hear both your father and yourself are doing ok.

Take care!

Yikes. I'm sorry to hear about all of this. Deep, cleansing breaths, and Blessings Upon Thy Repair Shoppe. I hope they recover everything OK. So stressful.

If you end up in the market for new, hmu. I had to buy quickly last year under similar circumstances and am really happy with how it turned out - and didn't break the bank.

Like entering a colorful land with furry creatures popping up here and there as we cruise along. A good place to  be.
Sorry about the puter, glad you're getting fixed and wasn't too bad. Scary stuff. I better backup now!

This is, unfortunately, exactly why I've been amassing hardware and getting as out-the-box as I can. Creating is definitely slower and more deliberate, but I haven't lost anything. Yet. Hopefully it stays that way.

Good to hear your dad is on the mend and that you're feeling better.

Good luck for your computer troubles. I get the feeling. Good that you have backups!

The track is cute and bouncy. I like how the notes proceed in a somehow unexpected but still likeable way smile

OH NO I will heed this as a warning for my 2018 Mac…

The track is nice I love how the whole thing pulses

So comforting. smile

i enjoy that tricky/subtle harmonic movement through chords that share similar tonal spaces, but diverge into varying degrees of darkness and light, it's like the best use of a harmonic progression. employed with such great skill, so satisfying to listen to heart

Life never stops, does it? Glad things are better w/dad. Cool tune! Hope they get your computer sorted

This scares me, I don't have backups, glad the personal side of things has been better. love the simple drums and the slight lfo filter modulation, great backdrop with enough interest for the arps to play around.

Glad to hear you and your family are doing better.  Nice playful tune for this week, like the modulation of the drums to give them a nice propulsive cadence.  I hate backing up stuff, almost never do it, I will learn a valuable lesson one of these days.  This is also why I still print photo books of family pictures and trips.  Those pictures do mean the most to me.

The thing I despise most about making music is gear/computer issues so I feel for you.  I had the same thing happen with Time Machine a couple years ago too, just using iCloud for everything now.

I love the piano stuff you've been doing but good to hear some of your more electronic music again.  Very lively and fun.

Glad you and your dad's health is improving, sorry to hear about the tech difficulties. Glad we weren't deprived of this lovely track this week, and hope the repair went smoothly this week! heart

This is really nice. Like bubbles coming up to the surface of a pond or something. I like the groove of it as well. Glad to hear things are better with your dad. Sorry to hear about the tech issues. I was just thinking the other day how many important things are residing in our hard drives and cloud services. Kind of a bit frightening to be reminded that they might not always work as intended.

Sweet track, lovely arps ❤️

Also: Keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes smoothely with your laptop/HDD/SSD

Thank you for reminding me to backup my stuff today, it's been awhile...

The track you did manage to upload is lovely smile

Happy to hear your Dad is home and okay. Mine just had a hip replacement surgery from a fall at work and man it's stressful worrying about them all the time.
This is really neat and different from your usual stuff. I really liked it.

Loving the upbeat energy in this. Glad your dad is home and doing okay!

Ahh that half time switch is so nice at the end, I could spend at least 2 more minutes in it heart. Fingers crossed your computer troubles are fixed this week, but also we're all here for the acapella+harmonica vibes smile

A wonderful little jam! Hopefully you are back up to speed soon!

What a horrible situation. I  recommend to switch to the 4track and a real piano unless you do not burn down the house.
