Reverie

By Tone Matrix on May 29, 2022 3:44 pm

I was originally aiming for something dark and brooding this week.  I thought I was in the mood for some dark drones and maybe 2 chords at most.  I kept going back and forth and couldn't settle on a particular sound.  So I took a break from that key and switched to the Piano.  My brain originally said "Let's get real dark".  My fingers said "nope let's do this instead."  Well ok let me hit capture and call it a day then.   Fingers 1.. Brain -1...   Tanks fer listenin!

I do like what your fingers did a lot.

Peaceful, light, smooth. And this image is very pretty.

You can go dark another time, this one feels very luminous with just a little touch of melancholy.

this music will be perfect to create an intimate atmosphere, when it is late and I stare into a candle and think about my beloved ones. this is a very very beautiful noodle.

The fingers knew what they wanted to do this week and they delivered.  That was a very pretty piano piece for sure.  The good thing about WB is there are plenty of opportunities to try different things and perhaps the brain will win out another week.

The clash between the brain and the fingers sometimes feels like the story of my songwriting process. This is really nice. Subtle and quiet and thoughtful. I like the way it feels like it drifts along at its own pace.

That's what she said.  Sorry, couldn't help myself.

Definitely enjoyed what came out though.  Very emotional without getting too dark.

Your hands are full of wistfulness and melancholy, such a beautiful song.

That's a beautiful track, that mixes nostalgia and hope.

Perfect title for this. Like a just commented on your other track, this elicits feelings, great creating as usual, thanks for it!

Those lovely flourishes are really adding a different sound to your music this week. Bittersweet but more than a little hopeful in those higher reprises.
