False Awakening

By Tone Matrix on May 3, 2020 6:27 pm

This week I stumbled upon inspiration from ELPHNT's free pack of Ableton instruments.  The delayed saxy_flute patch is what started off the chord progression.  Added a few more sounds to counter the chords and then a few Spitfire instruments (Trumpet, Cello, Piano and Music Box).  Thanks for listening! smile

Beautiful. Especially the soft trumpet melody.

That was a saxy tune. You do interesting things with sounds. I really like the static that comes in at the end. something about your tracks puts importance on sounds that aren't typically considered, like the white noise (or blue noise?). Why do I like the white noise as a standalone sound? What have you done to me to ma?!

Wow, great track this week.  The instrumentation works so well.  The transition to the outro at 3:45 is so dramatic, I love it.  I didn't even realize how much tension was building up until that break.  Also, very cool idea to use white noise between the sparse piano at the end.  I dont think I've ever heard that before.

everything sounds so warm and relaxing. awesome beautiful and dreamlike music you give us. I love it.

That opening sound (I assume it's the saxy-flute) sounds really cool.  The whole thing does. It's very soothing and I agree that bit of hiss that comes in towards the end is a nice touch.

Didn’t know how this was going to develop when it first started, great progression and the addition of complementing sounds, agree with others the hiss with the piano works so well and very original idea.

Great one! I also like that opening sound a lot -- the saxy flue. I like how this has a distinct pulse and rhythm but no drums. This is subtle and takes its time but when the little melodies drip in they are so nice, have a playful quality. There's a magical feeling under this.

Great for that lazy morning.

Very lovely piece.  Love the SF piano.

really cool piece!  that title is great
