Downtown '97

By Tone Matrix on June 24, 2018 8:35 pm

Using the same piano as last week I tried to channel some memories of playing in a small practice room I used to frequent when I was attending a music school in downtown Miami.  I wasn't very social and tended to spend my free time in the practice rooms.  I added a bit of room tone that happens to be from a hotel in Miami (thanks freesounds.org).  I would always hear students chattering up and down the halls while I tried to work on my next composition or class assignment.  Thanks for listening smile

It certainly has a distinct sensation to it. I like it.

Lovely piano, and the ambience works really well for the track.

The ambience definitely adds something nice somehow.  I remember occasionally recording on my 4-track cassette recorder in practice rooms at college and sometimes picking up chatter or the sound of someone practicing in a nearby room so this has some cool memory associations for me also.  smile

This is beautiful, and very pensive.

So rich, great stuff, gotta love freesounds.org always can find a little something to add to the track

Aaaah man! That's the kind of track where you get samples from wink
Pianosound is lovely, backgroundnoise is wonderfull. And performance is awesome big_smile

Yes! The piano sound is so good. Thanks for sharing the background too, I myself have fond memories of university practice rooms and I can really hear where you are coming from,

I just had to say thanks again to theGuen for such a cool remix of "Downtown '97".  I don't even think it should be called a remix because it has it's own feel to it.  YAY! smile

Lovely playing, and production. Calming. Can picture a student holed up in practice room. I try and keep up on your stuff but jumped over here thanks to Guen remix as well. Cheers to remixing each others stuff indeed!

Now I have to listen to theGuen remix... cool to imagine Ocean Drive along with such an intimate and beautiful music smile

Will try to play "Hotline Miami" along with your music...
