Symbiotic

Haven't been putting in as much time as I'd like to lately with music. Although I'm trying to find a good balance between these Weekly Beats and other life stuff. This track doesn't feel fully realized to me, but with these WB's I'm learning that I sorta just have to make a compromise with the time constraint.

This was pretty much all done in Logic with various one shots, beat loops, VSTs, and other sounds from the Hydrasynth. Initially inspired by a more Minimal approach, slowly building up simple layers and patterns. I like what it transformed into, but still feels rushed to me.

The arrangement here is really nice.  I think vertically stacked patterns can get repetitive, but I think you kept this sounding pretty fresh through the whole thing.  The little vocal sample interlude at like 2:15 was a nice touch.

solid grooves! reminds me of Jazz Jackrabbit 2 for some reason! cool vocal bits big_smile and cool drums! can't identify the hydra bits, which is nice!

I can't image how much time was necessary for this track. Feels like it would take me a lot of hours to get this done cause I can't really imagine the workflow, I'd be rethinking every section a million times. It feels complete and a good length, doesn't feel rushed but idk what you were going for initially. kudos!

this felt gentle and built naturally. I didn't think I was ready for the beat to come in at first, but it quickly carried me away and I found myself bopping around the kitchen with my headphones on heart

this moves right along and has a great vibe. Enjoyed this listen very much, great track!

Great build. Love that melody that comes in. Killer transition work. You kept it interesting the entire way. Vocal sample work well done as well.

I like how your songs that aren't fully realized still have a lot of dynamics, smooth transitions, detail, and forward momentum haha.

Very pleasant mix, somehow bright and shiny, yet bright. Ever changing arrangement that kept me interested the whole way. Very nice work!

the middle section with the riff and other bitcrushed textures is nice!  also v cool how there's a variety of breaks that weave in but don't overstay their welcome.  overall sounds polished and directionful (it's a word) despite the time crunch.

Rushed or not, there's plenty of change across the 4 minutes that it keeps my attention and is a nice listen. Good job!

Nitpick: the compressor is pretty strong on this one so high-pitched sounds get ducked due to the drums. But it's not strong enough for this to appear deliberate. I'd try a multiband compressor instead.

Yes! Go critters go!
Fun all through, feeling good.
I think you have plenty to enjoy here for a weekly beat, all about that balance indeed!
