Suitcase

By sylcmyk on July 13, 2018 11:21 pm

I beautified a demo track I wrote in 2015. Around this time I resigned as a piano teacher, fell in love in Philadelphia, and started going out more.

If I keep it up my suitcase will be filled with memories, not clothes!

I have a LOT of questions for you, young man!

1: How do I make SNES sounding music, the way your introductory instrument sounds?
2: You aren't a piano teacher anymore?!?!
3: OOOO Philadelphia is the name of a person, not the city, right?  wink

So lovely, and a refreshing change.
If you find your suitcase is too full of memories to fit clothes, maybe it's worth digitizing.

That's a broken image right there. Chances are it's a soundfont, and if not (because sylcmyk is full of surprises) then it can definitely be done with one at least.

It was this:

Oh man I gotta figure out how to soundfont.  I keep hearing about these.

All you need is a host and the SF2 files you want to use. LMMS has a plug-in for it, but there are some VST hosts as well. Supposedly Ableton has this thing called Sampler that you can use.

big_smile Thanks!
Yep, Soundfonts! There's also a nice sounding string instrument buried within SONY ACID PRO that you should check out.
I had to stop teaching for financial reasons but I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
