Vintage Tofu Medley

By SQF on January 31, 2024 10:22 pm

The tune I'm submitting was not the one I had been working on but this idea came together better.

Kind of a 3 part medley. I'm ignoring song structuring standards, not that I've followed them so closely before.

I think it still rips.

Early pads are from my deepmind 12 that I'm trying to utilize more.
Still using that JD800 sample with the shimmery bits in the background at times though it's time to build upon new synth samples from here on out.

Time to move on and work on the next one, here's to #5 of 52

low tempo synth jam, love that first bassline/beat combo

Dig the boopy synth plucking down on top is delightful. Cool tune! Keep it up!

Damn, lots of cool-ass sounds in here.  Like all of them are pretty cool actually, especially the leads at 2:00, 2:25, and most of all 3:30.  And all the sweeping pads, and the fat bass near the end.

I had to get rid of my Deepmind.  It was an awesome synth and I miss it, but I had to relearn so much every time I used it with the amount of features buried in the menu.  Big fan of the non-linear envelopes though, that was the only analog synth I had with that feature.

This somehow reminds me of Inspector Norse

It's square, it's tasty, it's tofu.
Great song.

Thanks for the listen and comment! The Deepmind envelopes are pretty cool. I still don't feel like I really gel with it. I think about selling it to roll the money into something else but then I read how amazing it is and how people would never sell it lol. I just got a subsequent 37 so I've been busy tinkering with that.

MMMMM thanks!!

part 1. Those bits when the FM bass starts to loose its texture cool
part 2. The PWMish lead is cool; the bell lead & motif is cooler
part 3. Bopping to the keys' mellow melody and then it
