Keyed Up - W6

By SQF on February 7, 2024 10:47 pm

Deluge doing all midi sequencing and resampling
All sounds besides drums via moog subsequent 37 running through a strymon volante tape echo/reverb.

This was largely an exercise in sound design with the recently acquired sub 37.
I like how it turned out, I hope you enjoy it as well!

Nice, this is sweet.  Loving the movement in all these parts.  A lot of the patches in here that I would not have expected to come from a Moog too, definitely very cool use of this synth.

Obviously all the analog is super nice and warm and fat but I randomly like the simple driving drums. Especially on the intro I got some nostalgia but not sure what for. That just a loop? 😆

Thanks! Yeah, I had fun building patches from scratch and seeing what it's capable of. No regrets with it.

It's some drum samples I have on my deluge. I typically start with super simple drums and then go back and add more variation. With this one I kind of liked the driving simplistic beat, so I left it.
So, I'm glad you like it too! Thanks for the listen.

Speaking of variation: I like how the cool arp riff halfway through builds on the patch+motif starting at ~2:03

*MOOG JEALOSY INTENSIFIES*
so rad, and just jumps out of the speakers!

Those lead lines are super fun. Again, love how the drums pops out.
