With Whatever We've Got (WB19)

Making due with the hand we're dealt seems to be the theme this week.

Was running around all week and didnt have a chance to start my tune til Sunday morning. And I had to get other stuff done too! Smashed some chords together to a metronome and stacked some vox with some hasty lyrics. Kept it nice and simple (and quick) with a single guitar track. Only 3 vocal takes which I copypastastacked a bit in the computer. A few compressors and a bit of reverb and got it done in about 2 and a half hours.

Not too bad for a couple hours but its definitely not as fleshed out as I might have liked *shrugs*

Lyrics:

We can never look back
At the pillars of salt
In the eyes of a statue
No quarter you'll find
To live with out Justice
When the punishment's felt
Do whatever we can
With whatever we find

With whatever we find
With whatever we've got
Do whatever we can
With whatever we find

Wow, really loved the progressively layering vocals. Brightly singing about the punishment being felt made me imagine a prisoner in a musical joyfully accepting his fate. Pretty tangential, but hey, the brain is a weird thing.

Actually you're not far off. I had "into the fire" from Pirates of Penzance in my head earlier this week so it might have rubbed off!
