We Move On (WB14)

By spry on April 10, 2022 9:32 pm

Best not to dwell if you can manage. Went for a bit of a ballad of sorts this week.

Tried not to let this one get out of control on me and kept the instruments and processing minimal. Computer drums, DI guitar, DI Bass, harmonium, snaps, claps and tambourine.

Lyrics:

If the weight of a feather
Can help us feel better
We move on

At the end of the day
When we're sinking away
What else can we say but
Move on

We can
Move on
It's all we can do is
Move on

At the pace that were walking
around each corner stalking
a reception of unblinking eyes

With a pep in our step
And whatever that's left
Its all we can do to move on

We can
Move on
It's all we can do is
Move on

Uplifting! I really dig the change to the A(maybe A7?) for the second line of the choruses. Tasty little flavor change. Thanks for your positivity and good vibes.

Always love your songwriting and lyrics. This is magnificent as always. supernice.

I'll gladly stick around this song for a bit though.

Work that tambourine! I like the minimalism... Just enough and nothing more.  But turn up that harmonium in the mix... I think it may have more to say:) Good work on the vocals and lyrics!

A good pop song is always welcome. Good vocal and melody. That woodblock is hypnotizing me.

Thanks! I had a capo on fret 3 so it was C played like an A big_smile

Thank you! I'm glad you like the words smile I have a hard time hearing things from other points of view so its hard for me to tell if the words resonate to other people

You're right, that harmonium could come up in the mix and that guitar is a little bold. Thanks for the vote of confidence!

That woodblock was a last minute decision but it really tied that second verse together lol
