Hard To Get (WB07)

By spry on February 20, 2022 7:45 pm

Another one of those songs that plays on repeat in the back of my mind that finally made it out into the real world.

I Had a lot of fun recording live percussions bits over top of this one. The main drum beat is me pounding on the walls of my closet lol. Just add some tambourine and claps and a little electronic timing to tie it all together. Recording guitars is a whole wide world of possibilities (to screw up!). The bass and clean guitar went DI into my mixer and were re-amped in Ableton and the lead was miced off my 15W X-Brand amp.

Lyrics:
Don't make me track you down

Good stuff, sounds like fun to make. Nice lyrics sheet! smile

Welp, now it can play on repeat forever in my head.

a great hit potential is available in this song. so good recorded and performed.

i love this but also hate you a little because this will 100% be stuck in my head

the riff at :38 was INCREDIBLE

lol the "drums" really worked out well.

I think I might have to start reconsidering what I consider "drums" a bit more. A bit of EQ can make anything a bass drum! Sorry about the ear worm :-X

I ended up playing that riff in a different part of the take on a different take but it was a happy accident so I clipped it in at the beginning of my solo take and it fit nicely!

Drew, to self: "Ugh, I'm so mad at spry for making me sing his song, I'm going to have to go over to his house and beat him up!"

Drew, to self: "......don't make me track you dooooooown!"

Drew, to self: "....dang it."

I was going to say how nice it is to have found another tambourinist, but after hearing what you've done here, clearly you are on a different level than I am. Bravo! Fun song, great percussion performances.

I'm actually not that good at tambourine but I'm not half bad at editing together a couple decent 4 bar loops out of several mediocre takes lolz. tack a couple of transitions in there and no one would have ever known :-X thanks for the vote of confidence!

god dang it i'm back on this after listening to this week

it's so catchy

LOVE!
