Hello,
Thanks for all the nice comments from last week! This week I made a 4 legged keyboard stand and threw out my old X-style stand, which my feet always end up uncomfortably tangled in. Today I did some cable management. It's going to be tidy! My tidy room is also very boomy and reverberant, so I will have to do something about that if I want to record more acoustic instruments.

This week I had a lot of fun with my track. Recorded MIDI in Reaper. Working to improve on my keyboard skills. I am using a lot of quantizing and editing, but with the guitar I'm trying to keep the takes as long as possible. Also dug out the violin for the first time in a month.

I used the Roland MT-32 for bass (saxophone and harpsichord), electric guitar, vibes, marimba and drums.
Casio MT-65 drum samples
Yamaha SY99 EP and pads
Electric and acoustic guitars
Bass guitar

Really silly and cool! Return To Forever on the High Seas this do be yaharr!

This is a treasure chest that can be opened many times and there are always new things to find (third listen now). Fantastic! Won't compliment on individual things, because I'd end up mentioning everything. (fourth listen now).

Very cool and interesting track. Your guitar work is always super solid and the old school synths are such a vibe.

Well done.

It's so playful and yet so pirate-y at the same time. Ahoy! The waviness of the guitar solo is so fitting, I love the way the other instruments jive with it.

FUN TUNE big_smile love all the piratey shanty lines! it's such a fun genre to explore! awesome guitar playing too, but the composition!!! I love that the melody lines keep going into the next bar for much longer than you expect them at first! Sick bass lines and power chords, oh man, a lot to love here! I'm with zpeisman on good fun from repeated listens!

BTW speaking of shanties I had a funny pirate game once and it was really great to get people to make tunes for it, and I even gave it a try but my shanty was way too mysterious jazzy sounding. the game is called Reel Talk and it's way too short but kinda wanna expand it someday... https://lars.itch.io/reel-talk

This is fucking awesome, so playful and that guitar is so good.
I'm having a bit of a time finding the violin though. Maybe it's buried really well, like treasure.

I'll give you a map to the treasure, but it'll cost you. Look the the right. Oh shoot! I just gave it away for free.

Incredibly fun track and so dense without anything being distracting. Absolutely amazing mix.
