Video Game Theme

By Sodabelly on February 21, 2026 7:17 pm

This week I tackled the theme song for my buddy's in-progress video game. I had a few notes and chords that I was both set on and stuck on at the same time, I had about five seconds of music that I really struggled to flesh out but I knew something good was in there somewhere. A big problem I have when composing is I just don't have the discipline to sit down and work something out, I tend to just do things that I know work and work quickly so I'm pretty happy that I challenged myself to work through those issues this week and was lucky enough to have the time. I fear that my friend will think this track is too serious or too slow in parts but as a WB track, I'm very happy with it!

Uploading this on Saturday so I can spend Sunday morning catching up on everyone else's stuff with a giant coffee smile

Pretty theme song! I'm digging this texture and the tasteful staccato incorporation. Well done!

This sounds like it would be a fun video game to play.  There's a definite cinematic quality to the music, and the theme that kicks in around 0:34 is quite catchy and uplifting.

Immaculate composition from start to finish—the ritardando transition just before the new section at 00:24 brought so much class—it made me stop what I was doing and start hunting for the tab playing this track. tongue

This is great.

Oh wow, this is fantastic! Lots of different energies all coexisting so well. Very cinematic and inspiring.

Excellent orchestration!  such an uplifting feel that would have me amped to start my quest.  Love the sorta music box outro with the slow down.  Like I just hit "A".

a delight, Sodabelly  heart

I like this gentle, delicate mood this is building. Lowkey emotional and wistful, but without going overboard. Just wonderful. No notes. Five stars.

Pure excellence.
