Week 31: Disco

This week I immersed myself in creating a classic disco track. I focused on perfecting the drum sound with the right samples, lots of compression, transient shaping and saturation. I also learned how to program strings in Kontakt, which was initially overwhelming due to the extensive libraries. However, I eventually found the articulations I needed to achieve the sound I was looking for.

Everything was falling into place for a classic disco vibe until I started to lay down some guitar. Although I couldn't find a classic Nile Rodgers funk guitar preset in Guitar Rig, I did come across a preset with a cool phaser sound. This unexpected twist inspired me to incorporate elements of Tuareg Rock and classic Turkish Psychedelic to give the track a unique twist.

I'm proud of how it turned out and learned a lot in the process. I also created two more song sketches that I plan to finish and release on an EP soon. Stay tuned!

Wow, this is just incredible.

This is like Turkish coffee, so smooth but so bold! I dig that you took it in a new direction once you started playing guitar on it. Super cool
