This one was somehow both a marathon and a sprint.

Short version, after comments from last week, I've got more and more confidence I'm going in the right direction. Which is great from an overall perspective, but it's also turned me into my own personal nightmare as I try to refine everything all at once.

Rack is fairly different this week. Acidus Versio proved things well enough that I bought another Erica Synths Bassline. I realized Raw Waves, while the whole... things work like a radio you can scrub through... sounds super cool, it's really unpredictable, so I replaced that with an Erica Synths Sample Drum. This let me trigger a variety of weird samples on one channel, and add some organic... techno-shaman bullshit ass... perc in places too.

While figuring all of that out, and realizing my FX chain is shit and trying to redo it in a week without spending monies, I managed to spend uh... almost the entire week saw sharpening. There's some stuff about this track that I think is a big improvement over the first two--we have more rhythm and note variety, while still having a lot of timbre changes. The sample stuff is way better in terms of both clarity of sound (RPLKTR you were 100% right on this) and placement, although that also has a couple of less than perfect moments.

All of that to say, I think this was a good exercise in exploring some things and proving out some possibilities, but also the end product is just... fine. More time actually jamming on less ideal gear last week felt like it was producing better results. So hopefully this is starting to lock some shit in place so I can continue the _practice_ part because it makes an infinite difference on the end product.

Hopefully you're all still plugging pills before listening to my bullshit. Remember kids, just up to the first knuckle. Any more than that and you're just playing with it.

I love this song ... driving, heavy hitter, but lol at your tags! Haha! Awesome. wink

good rhyming tags, and great sounds out of your modular & friends

Abandoned hospital basement rave type beat

Nice. Good job on progression/evolving, drops
Great bass, awesome usage of voice samples

Could use a louder mix and a bassdrum that cuts through the mix more

More pls

Crispy and brittle. Love it. Voice sample is amazing. I require more acid for testing purposes.

That's quite the run, a sprint and a marathon.
