OP-1 Airfield

By scottux on June 12, 2022 10:54 pm

My first OP-1 Field song & my first time composing a weekly beat in the SKY! Came out a little too rumbly and fuzzy bc i added a mic recording of the plane ambience.

Pretty! And given that you wrote it in the sky, those airy synth bells were really on point. big_smile

chill vibes i like the kind of roll break
is that a guitar in the background?

With al the cabin noise, I wonder how it affects the mixing? Unless you have good noise cancelling headphones? That sounds however a perfectly constructive way to handle the time up there, locked in a metal box. I swear I could hear a bubble like layer in the back, as a subterranean background to the beat and the pure synth. But not sure - i may have dreamed it up in the noisy cafe I’m listening in.

Oh man, it'll be cool for you to listen back to this song and recall how it was conceived thousands of feet in the air.

I dig it, there's a nice underlying vibe with that spacious core melody, the driving bass line, and the blippy ambient synth padding it out. I also just adore the inclusion of the cabin noise. As uncomfortable as it is to try to sleep on a plane, I love the noise and find it relaxing.
